Atmosphir is a Beta I’ve been keeping an eye on for quite some time now. Essentially it’s a 3D platform game construction kit which allows you to design levels or play other peoples levels that have been created.

On the surface the Atomsphir engine appears to borrow heavily from Nintendo’s 3D versions Mario & Zelda, in terms of both looks and feel. Despite this Atmosphir hasn’t copied the art of the games and isn’t trying to be a direct copy of either one. The engine itself appears to be just trying to get the best elements from existing 3D platformers and then allowing players to come in and create their own vision about what a level should be.

I’m really looking forward to this software being released, as it not only looks like it might be a lot of fun but could be a great way to challenge your friends with levels you can create or even the world in general.

Atmosphir will be available for Windows, Mac & Linux!
